Categorization

The natural cognitive process of grouping and labeling people, things, etc., based on their similarities. Hate speech practices through the use of categorization with a negative connotation. Thus, it becomes problematic when the grouping becomes oversimplified and rigid (based on stereotypes/unconscious bias).
